What happens to my data?

The Right to Build Register is a safe and compliant platform. Your data will be held on a secure national server and no data will be passed to third parties without your express permission.

When registering your details on the Right to Build Register, we will hold your information in accordance with applicable legislation which relates to self and custom build obligations for local authorities as outlined in the Self Build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015.

The information you provide when registering, such as how big you want your house to be, or how much you have to spend on it, ensures councils can make better informed decisions and bring forward more sites with suitable serviced plots, for self or custom build.

When you register, your data is packaged and sent to your selected Local Authorities where it will be reviewed. If you meet the eligibility criteria and are accepted, the Local Planning Authority has three years to meet the demand for a building plot.

Under no circumstances will we pass your data to third parties without your expressed permission.
